Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing
Effective August 30, 2023, this nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on August 30, 2025. Program Professional Licensure Requirements

Certification is not required but highly recommended for graduates of the medical assisting program. ÌýUpon successful completion of the certificate program, graduates are eligible to take either the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam offered by American Association of Medical Assistants () and/or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam, offered by American Medical Technologists (americanmedtech.org).

The Medical Assistant Certificate Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of AlliedÌýHealth Education Programs () upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board ().

Belmont’s Certificate Program adheres to the Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Medical Assisting effective April 4, 2022. Developed by the Medical Assisting Education Review Board. Endorsed by American Association of Medical Assistants American Medical Technologists National Healthcareer Association and Approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

To prepare medical assistants who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

Program Professional Licensure Requirements

Several programs also require professional licensure requirements. The following º¬Ðß²ÝAV programs are designed to meet Ohio licensure requirements:

  • Nursing
  • – this is a national credential and not dependent upon the state that schooling and/or testing took place in. Some states require a radiation license in addition to the ARRT credential, but that it is not dependent upon the state in which schooling and/or testing took place
